2019 Instructional Staff
Scott Brown, Brass Caption Head
Highland Regiment is thrilled that Scott Brown will serve as Brass Caption Head for the 2019 season!
Mr. Brown is a graduate of Wilkes University and has done graduate work at Southern Oregon's American Band College, Temple University, The University of the Arts, and Villanova University.
Elsewhere, Scott studied trombone with Tyrone Breuninger of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Joseph Alessi of the New York Philharmonic, internationally acclaimed jazz trombonist Urbie Green and conducting with Claude Pichereau of the Paris Conservatory.
Brown served as the brass caption head for the 6 time DCA World Champion Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps as well as Fusion Drum and Bugle Corps and is often asked to serve as a clinician for bands all over the eastern seaboard.
Kevin Flaherty, Drill Designer & Visual Consultant
Highland Regiment is thrilled to announce that Kevin Flaherty will serve as Drill Designer and Visual Consultant for the 2019 season!
Kevin most recently served as Visual Staff with Howell High School of New Jersey and helped that program achieve unprecedented growth. He works in the Freehold, New Jersey school district and during the summer months leads music camps for young people.
Flaherty is a recent graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned a Bachelor of Music with Honors. While there he was a member of the renowned U D Marching Band serving for three years as its Drum Major.
Daquan Sessoms, Battery Caption Head and Arranger
Highland Regiment is overjoyed to announce that Daquan Sessoms will return to the corps for the 2019 season and will serve as Battery Caption Head and Arranger!
Sessoms most recently served as Percussion Caption Head with the renowned Elizabeth High School Marching Band in NJ. During Daquan’s time with the Elizabeth program the band garnered three New Jersey State Championships and an astounding THREE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!
As a performer Sessoms marched with the Bushwackers of Princeton, NJ and more recently with the Hawthorne Caballeros, also in New Jersey.
Dree Dray, Color Guard Caption Head
Highland Regiment is proud to announce Dree Dray will return for a second year as Color Guard Caption Head, and part of our Design Team.
Dree performs with Emanon World Indoor Guard in the off season and was previously a member of the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps, and Co-Motion Indoor Guard. Dree has a background in dance and has performed at Lincoln Center with the Bolshoi Ballet Company.
He will bring a strong foundation of dance and body alignment and a visual understanding of music to his section. Dree's inventive equipment work and dilligent efforts won out Color Guard a gold medal at DCA Individual and Ensemble Competition in 2017.
Dree works with several high school programs in New Jersey. He holds a degree from New York City College of Technology in computer systems and currently works in the field of Pharmacy providing excellent care to his patients.
